The son of Apollo released Hazel and shook his head with a light smile, “Forget? Hah. What do you take me for?” One thing he did have, was a decent memory. While there was a foggy point that disturbed him and visions that wrought it with a lot of stress for a boy his age, the memories he had of his mother, his friends and camp were what made his life bright. “That would mean forgetting how we first spoke.” He shrugged, perhaps he put too much value on the past but it was something he often thought about. “Of course. Though, I might have a some of your favorite… treat if you feel like finding something awesome to do now.” He offered, the ideal of parting company didn’t appeal to him now. But, of course what they could do right now was a loss to him— there were too many people near the beach for him to want to wander there like he usually liked.
Hazel raised her arms in mock surrender, laughing. ”I meant nothing by anything.” When Caine talked about their first meeting, she couldn’t but smile again. ”That was a brilliant day, we were just born to cause mayhem together.” She said, placing a hand on her chest dramatically. However, at the mention of food, Hazel’s eyes widened slightly and her face visibly brightened more so then it was already. ”Food, what? Candy Caine, don’t lie to me here.” She said, not being able to stop another laugh coming out. ”Hm, I’m not sure where we can go around now. The woods should be pretty clear, but the question is, do we want to walk all the way over there?” Hazel’s lazy side shone more when she was around Caine. Since he wasn’t exactly thrilled with the idea of going where there were multiple people because of his gift, it got her use to just sitting there and doing nothing.
Hazel laughed lightly. “I have no clue. I remember my dad took some advil when he got drunk at our family Christmas party last year but I don’t think we have any here.” She laughed again and sat on the floor facing Koda and Toby, leaning against the wall.
Toby just laid there, on his bed, Koda brushing his hair out of his eyes very now and then. His gaze flickered to Hazel, sitting on the floor and then back up to Koda. And in that moment, Toby did something that he immediately knew he should never have done.
He kissed Koda.
Not just on the cheek, either. Or even on the forehead. It was a full-on kiss. Straight on her lips.
Koda’s eyes widened as Toby kissed her. She put her hands on his shoulders, shoving him away from her with all her might. He fell backwards, back onto the bed. Koda glared at him, her eyes tearing up. And then she slapped him.
Without even a glance back at his stunned expression, Koda fled out of the Poseidon cabin, tears streaming. She thought she heard Hazel call her name and someone running after her, but she ignored them, still running, headed for the beach. Only one thought crossed her mind: Toby just kissed me..
Hazel’s jaw dropped when Toby kissed Koda. Awkwardddddd. She saw Koda shove him away, slap him across the face -cue gasp- and run out the door, tears in her eyes. She quickly jumped up, and looked at Toby, disbelief in her eyes and face.
“What the hell Toby!?” She walked over to him and hit him upside the head. “How could you do that to her?!” She looked out the door and saw Koda running towards the beach “Koda wait!” Hazel dashed out the door of cabin 3 and chased after her best friend.
